A panel of experts will select a group of promising Dutch start-ups to participate in the spring of 2014.
During this four-day event, companies will be immersed in the Silicon Alley way of life. The chosen start-ups will gain valuable information from experts on entrepreneurship, receive training and workshops to hone their pitching skills, and have various opportunities to meet interesting companies, entrepreneurs and experts.
These New York City “insiders” will share their experience and knowledge to lend insight into the tech hub, New York City with a thriving start-up scene and plenty of investors which is striving to become a digital leader.
Silicon Alley is a nickname for New York City’s dot-com industry, which originally started along a Broadway corridor extending from the Flatiron District to Soho and Tribeca. In the last few years, New York City has become the start-up leader in advertising, new media, financial technologies such as MediaMind, DoubleClick and many web 2.0 companies.
Holland in the Alley Startup Bootcamp is part of the Holland in the Valley initiative, a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge between players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Silicon Valley, the Netherlands, and beyond. The Consulate General in San Francisco has successfully been organizing an annual start-up boot camp in Silicon Valley for up-and-coming Dutch tech companies for the past five years.
With New York City’s recent tech industry boom, the New York City area became an important additional region of interest for start-ups from the Netherlands. As a result, the first Holland in the Alley Startup Bootcamp was organized in June 2013. Click here for more information about the program and participants of the 2013 boot camp.
